In the educational sphere, it's more common now-days to say that you're interested in learning, putting the focus on what students are learning rather than on what you (as the teacher) is doing. This is worthwhile focus, but if we're honest, most of what we can effect is still about our teaching.
This blog is a way for me to record what's going on in my thinking the topic. I'm working on a presentation tool called 3rd Row. It's a replacement for PowerPoint and Keynote that is intended to simply and streamline teaching. I've been working on it for about 10 months now, ever since I finished my PhD degree and decided I needed a new topic. I enjoy researching ePortfolios, but ultimately, decided that they needed a departmental adoption to be valuable. Working on a project that individual instructors could choose to adopt (or not) seemed more fulfilling.
